Terms of Service
The studios make photos, music, patterns and other creations from your own choices and material. Results can be wrong or differ from what you expected, and generated music can by chance sound like existing works. This is not legal or professional advice, not a certification and not a guarantee that a creation is free of other people’s rights or fit for a particular use.
The service
U-Studio is a service operated by UNIHOLIX OÜ (registry code 17479878, Estonia). It is a set of creative tools that run in your browser: a photo booth, a music studio, a voice booth, broadcast tools, an art studio, a cover and thumbnail room and an animation room. Its video room links to Video Workflow Studio, a separate service of ours with its own terms. These terms apply when you use the studios and when you buy a Studio Pass.
Every studio is free to use. A Studio Pass, bought separately, lets you save in full quality and without the small U-Studio mark for 24 hours.
Who can use it
You must be 13 or older (or the higher minimum age in your country) to use the service, and if you are under 18 you may use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
What the studios make
- The studios make photos, music, patterns, animations and other creations from your own choices and material, mostly in your browser. A result can fail, look or sound different from what you expected, or differ between devices and browsers.
- Music and patterns are generated by rules from your choices. They are not copied from existing works, but a generated result can by chance resemble an existing work. The service is not legal or professional advice, not a certification and not a guarantee that a creation is free of other people's rights or fit for a particular use.
Your material and your responsibilities
- Use only photos, recordings, texts and files that you made yourself or have permission to use.
- Photograph, film or record people only when they agree to it. For a child, you need the agreement of a parent or guardian.
- Follow the rules of the platforms where you publish what you make, and label it where the platform or the law requires it. What you make with the studios and what you do with it is your responsibility.
Acceptable use
- Do not record or photograph anyone secretly or in a place where they can expect privacy.
- Do not make anything that sexualises or endangers children, that harasses, threatens or defames anyone, or that spreads hate.
- Do not use the studios to infringe the rights of others or to pass yourself off as another person.
Protecting the service
- Do not try to disrupt the service or get around its security, its limits or its payment, and do not load it in a way that affects other visitors.
- Do not access the service with automated means such as bots, scrapers or scripts, and do not try to extract, reverse-engineer or reproduce its internal rules or methods, for example by probing it systematically.
- Do not collect outputs of the service at scale to build a competing product or data set, or to train AI models.
Using what you make
- Your photos, recordings and texts stay yours.
- You may use the music, patterns and other results the studios generate for you in personal and commercial projects, worldwide and without naming us. This permission is not exclusive: other people may get similar results.
- Because results are not exclusive, do not register a generated track or pattern on its own with a content identification system, or claim exclusive rights in it, in a way that blocks other people's use.
Studio Pass: price, payment and delivery
- The Studio Pass costs $2.49 and the price is shown before you pay. Prices are set in US dollars. At checkout you may see and pay the price in your local currency, converted by our payment processor. Your bank may charge its own fees.
- You pay once through our payment processor. There is no subscription and no account. The payment processor emails you a receipt.
- Your pass starts right after payment and lasts 24 hours from the time of payment. It does not renew. It works on up to two devices: after payment the page shows a recovery code and a QR code, and you can also have a link sent to the email address you paid with. A third device cannot be added. The pass counts as delivered once it is active on the page.
- Keep your recovery code and the emailed link to yourself: anyone who has them can use your pass on a device, within the limit of two.
Right of withdrawal and refunds
Before you pay, you tick a box to confirm that you want your Studio Pass to start right away and that you understand you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once it has started. We record this confirmation with your payment.
If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract for digital content. Because you ask for immediate delivery and acknowledge the loss of this right, the right ends once your pass has started (Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the equivalent rules in the United Kingdom).
If your pass is not delivered, or you were charged more than once, you get a full refund. Our Refund Policy explains how to ask.
Intellectual property
The website and the service, including its texts, designs, frames, sounds, methods and internal rules, belong to UNIHOLIX OÜ, and all rights are reserved. You may use what you make as described above.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a Studio Pass is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for what you make with the studios or for how you use it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts there.
If you have a complaint, please email us first: most problems can be solved quickly. If you are a consumer in the EU, you can also turn to the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) or ask the European Consumer Centre in your country for help.
Changes
We may change these terms when the service or the law changes. The current version is always on this page. The terms that applied when you paid apply to that purchase.
